This program was created by Dr. Stephen P. Beals, a craniofacial surgeon who specializes in treating infants with deformational plagiocephaly, in conjunction with a physical therapist whose own baby developed deformational plagiocephaly. In his 20 years of practice, Dr. Beals has seen hundreds of children with abnormal head shapes and has a thorough understanding of what can cause this condition.

With input from the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Beals collaborated with Pediatricians, Orthotists and parents like you to create a video that will give you a clear understanding of deformational plagiocephaly and how to prevent it and help treat it early. The Heads UP Baby ® video and instructional booklet are full of important information that every parent, healthcare worker and childcare provider needs to know. Our goal is to increase awareness about this common condition and its treatment so that we can prevent children from developing deformational plagiocephaly in the first place.
